The Banana Tree Project was established in November 2006 with the aim of helping orphans and former street children in Mwanza, Tanzania to get into school. Where possible, we also help the orphanages to maintain a basic standard of living for the children. The charity is registered with the England and Wales Charity Commission (1116669).
Funding largely comes from individual donations and UK school charity fundraising. The Banana Tree Project pays no salaries and has no bureaucratic running costs.
